How it works

Three steps. No heavy lifting.

List the equipment, pick a time, and the crew loads it all for recycling.

1

List the equipment

Computers, monitors, printers, servers and how many of each.

2

Book a pickup

During business hours or after close.

3

Recycled responsibly

Everything goes to electronics recyclers.

What's included

Office electronics haul away

Old computers pile up fast. Every equipment refresh leaves behind monitors, towers, laptops, printers and tangles of cables that end up in a storage room. Most of it can't go in the trash. JunkHaulAwayPros clears it out and sends it to electronics recyclers, so your business stays responsible without the hassle of finding a drop-off.

  • Any quantity. A few old monitors to a whole office refresh.
  • Carried from anywhere. Storage rooms, server closets and upper floors.
  • Cables and peripherals. Keyboards, mice, docking stations and cords.
  • Electronics recycling. Metals, glass and plastics recovered.

Data security is your responsibility. Before pickup, wipe or remove hard drives and storage devices, or have them destroyed by a certified data destruction service. Crews collect and haul equipment but don't handle data sanitization.

Laptops and tablets, with drives removed or wiped.

Monitors

Flat panels and old CRT monitors.

Common reasons

When businesses need e-waste disposal

Electronics turn over faster than anything else in an office. These are the most common reasons for a pickup.

Hardware refresh

New laptops and monitors leave old ones behind.

Office move

Outdated equipment isn't worth moving.

Server migration

Moving to the cloud frees up server rooms.

Storage room cleanup

Years of broken devices piled in closets.

Closing a location

Clearing every device from an office.

Schools and clinics

Labs and offices replacing equipment in bulk.

A closer look

Why electronics need special handling

Computers and other electronics are made from a mix of valuable and potentially harmful materials. Circuit boards contain gold, silver and copper, while older monitors and some components contain lead, mercury and other substances that shouldn’t end up in a landfill. That’s why many states regulate electronics disposal and why trash haulers won’t take them.

Recycling electronics properly means sending them to facilities equipped to dismantle devices and separate materials. Metals are recovered and reused, plastics are processed where possible and hazardous components are handled according to environmental rules. For businesses, using a responsible recycling route also supports sustainability goals.

Data security is the other half of the equation. Hard drives, solid-state drives and even some printers and copiers store sensitive information. Before equipment leaves your office, make sure every storage device has been wiped with approved software, removed or destroyed by a certified service that can provide documentation.

With data handled and equipment staged, the pickup itself is straightforward. Crews collect everything from storage rooms, server closets and workstations, load it securely and take it directly to electronics recyclers, freeing up space and closing the loop on your old technology.

Planning a regular refresh cycle can make all of this simpler. Businesses that replace equipment every few years often schedule a pickup to coincide with each rollout, so old devices never pile up in storage rooms and data security steps are handled consistently every time.

On pickup day

What to expect when the crew arrives

Electronics pickups are quick and organized. The crew loads equipment carefully, keeps it secure on the truck and takes it straight to recyclers. Here's how it goes.

1

Confirmed in advance

Your arrival window is set ahead of time, including early, late or weekend slots when you need them.

2

A walkthrough on site

Your contact shows the crew what's going, what's staying and any building rules to follow.

3

Efficient removal

Background-checked pros protect floors, walls and elevators while they load everything out.

4

Left ready to use

The space is swept, and items are sorted for donation, recycling or disposal.

Scheduling

During the day or after hours

Choose a time that works for your office. Equipment can be collected from wherever it's stored.

During business hours

The crew collects equipment from storage rooms and workstations while you're open. Ideal for smaller pickups.

After hours & weekends

Large refreshes and server rooms can be cleared when the office is quiet.

Gather equipment in one area if you can. Staging everything in a single room makes the pickup faster and reduces disruption.

Responsible disposal

E-waste recycling done right

Electronics contain valuable metals as well as materials that shouldn't go in a landfill. Many states restrict how electronics can be disposed of, which is why trash services won't take them.

After pickup, equipment goes to electronics recyclers, where devices are separated into circuit boards, metals, glass and plastics for recovery. Working equipment may be refurbished and reused where possible.

Server rooms and storage

Heavy racks and crowded closets

Server racks, large copiers and old CRT monitors are heavy and awkward. Storage closets packed with years of equipment can be hard to work through, and server rooms are often in basements or interior spaces.

Crews bring carts and dollies for heavy equipment, protect floors and elevators and load everything securely. Racks and cabinets are disassembled if they won't fit through doorways.

Let us know about server racks, large copiers or equipment on upper floors when you book so the right crew is sent.

Good to know

Before e-waste pickup

1

Protect your data

Wipe or remove hard drives, SSDs and storage before pickup, or use a certified data destruction service.

2

Check leased equipment

Leased copiers and computers usually need to be returned to the leasing company, not recycled.

3

Remove batteries if possible

Large UPS batteries and backup units should be mentioned when you book, since they need special handling.

Quick prep

Preparing equipment

A few steps keep an electronics pickup secure and efficient.

  1. Sanitize data. Wipe or remove all storage devices.
  2. Gather equipment. Stage items in one room if possible.
  3. Unplug and disconnect. Power down and unplug everything going.
  4. Note heavy items. Mention servers, racks and copiers.

Weighing your options

Dropping it off yourself?

Electronics drop-off sites often have limited hours, quantity limits for businesses or fees for certain items like monitors and TVs. Loading dozens of monitors and towers into personal vehicles takes time and staff, and a dropped server or CRT can cause injuries.

Computer Removal FAQ

E-waste questions

Don't see your question? Send us a note and we'll get back to you within one business day.

Do you wipe or destroy hard drives?

No. Data security is the responsibility of your business. Before pickup, wipe hard drives and solid-state drives using approved software, remove them for your own destruction, or hire a certified data destruction service that provides certificates of destruction. Crews collect and haul equipment to electronics recyclers but don't sanitize data or certify destruction. Many businesses keep certificates of destruction on file for compliance and audit purposes.

What kinds of electronics can you take?

Desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, copiers, servers, networking equipment, phones, projectors, keyboards, mice, cables and most other office electronics. Large battery backups and items containing hazardous materials should be mentioned when you book. Leased equipment, especially copiers, usually needs to be returned to the leasing company instead of recycled. If you're unsure whether an item is accepted, ask when you book and we'll confirm.

Is there a minimum amount of equipment?

No. A single old printer or a full office refresh can both be picked up. Many businesses wait until a storage room is full, but a pickup can be scheduled whenever it's convenient. Adding old office furniture, filing cabinets or other junk to the same pickup is a good way to clear several problems at once. Regular pickups can also be arranged if your business refreshes equipment often.

Can you pick up from multiple office locations?

Yes. Businesses with several offices or branches can schedule pickups at each location, coordinated through a single request. Let us know the addresses, rough quantities and any building requirements at each site when you book. Pickups can be scheduled on the same day or spread across a timeline that fits your refresh project. Each location can have its own contact person to meet the crew on pickup day.

Where do our old computers go?

Electronics are taken to electronics recyclers, where devices are dismantled and separated into circuit boards, metals, glass and plastics so materials can be recovered. Working equipment may be refurbished and reused where possible. Sending electronics to recyclers keeps hazardous components out of landfills and helps your business meet local disposal rules. Recycling also recovers valuable metals that would otherwise be lost in a landfill.
